We are pleased to announce that one of our very own members and leaders of FIP YPG was featured on the front page of a magazine issue for “Medisina,” which is an Indonesian journal which highlights various practices of Indonesian pharmacy professionals.

The article also mentioned the Indonesian delegates who attended the Congress and what activities/sessions were hosted by Indonesian pharmacy professionals. Here are some highlights from this piece:

Ms. Sherly Meilianti’s Story (pp. 20–22)
The article about Ms. Meilianti introduced readers to her story and professional journey in pharmacy. It talked about her experiences of attaining her Master’s and her Doctoral degree in University College London (UCL). The article also mentioned Ms. Meilianti’s projects and activities she has been working on whilst completing her Ph.D. For example, she was one of the authors of the FIP Global report on workforce intelligence and had an award-winning poster presentation in FIP Congress in Glasgow.
The magazine also featured a summary about Ms. Meilianti’s main research project, which is to develop advanced pharmacy practice in Indonesia. This is a project in collaboration with the FIP and the Indonesian Pharmacist Association (IAI). This article aims to motivate and inspire pharmacists in Indonesia to pursue their degree and never give up, despite the many obstacles they may encounter. Ms. Meilianti mentioned in this article that when applying for the scholarship, which allows her to study at UCL, her major weakness was her limitation and capability of understanding, speaking, and writing English. However, she continued with multiple attempts to apply for a scholarship until she was selected out of the many qualified candidates. Ms. Meilianti’s passion is driven by her desire to improve pharmacy competency in Indonesia and to create a global network, with partnerships
between Indonesian pharmacy professionals and other leadership bodies across the world.
