One of the objectives of the Member Relations of FIP YPG is to engage with existing early career pharmaceutical organizations (ECPO). Today, we have in our network 15 organizations from different parts of the world, and among them, we have collaborated recently with the Malaysian Pharmacists Society — Young Pharmacists Chapter (MPS-YPC).
The collaboration for the 1st Networking session with MPS-YPC was a result of meetings focused on highlighting them as a case study on the “YPG Role in Global Health” report (not published) — They also joined our network during the process, and we started to organize the session.
The aim of the session was to connect both organizations, fostering collaboration and the development of a personal network.
The date of the networking session was set for Saturday, 8th May on Zoom, and the program outline was designed with parallel breakout interactive sessions, group activities, Kahoot! etc which were educative, fun, and participative for the over 30 participants from both sides. A list was also circulated at the end with everyone adding their social media handles and following each other ensuring a long connection with group photographs taken and posted on social media.
The session started with the moderator, Dione Moey who is also the MPS YPC Professional Networking Co-ordinator introducing the FIP YPG Chairperson, Renly Lim, and the MPS YPC Chairperson, Cedric Chua who encouraged attendees to sit back, learn, and network. The parallel breakout interactive sessions moderated by Jian Rong of the MPS YPC Professional Networking team were designed such that each room had 3 minutes to introduce themselves and tick something they have done e.g., hiking out of a checklist ensuring that everyone met everyone.
The FIP YPG Member Relations Team: Onyeka Obidiegwu and Raquel Oliveira moderated the ‘Schooner of Pharmacy’ which started with a fun Kahoot session of 10 questions won by the FIP YPG Secretary, Virginia Giolito, and then an interactive session of 5 topical issues like Internship and COVID-19 which was really educative with the various views across the world and recommendations on how things could be better across the zoom rooms.
The FIP YPG Chairperson of Public Relations, Lucas Ercolin appreciated everyone for making out time for the session while already having a cache of beautiful group photographs.
