YPG Chairperson 2019

Greetings, everyone! My name is Carolyn Dewart, and I am a pharmacist from the United States. I currently work as a Humana Pharmacy Clinical Services Consultative Pharmacist in Scottsdale, Arizona. It is an honor to be elected as the 2019 YPG Chair, and I look forward to working with passionate young pharmacists from all over the world.I was born and raised in Illinois, USA and graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. During my undergrad, I completed numerous healthcare internships, which persuaded me to further my education; I worked at Harvey A. Friedman Center for Aging at Washington University (St. Louis), Eaves Women’s Aid (London), and St. Vincent’s Private Hospital (Sydney). Inspired by these experiences, I went on to earn my Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy in 2015. During pharmacy school, I worked as an Intern at CVS Pharmacy and the University of Illinois Medical Center.I was also active in numerous student organizations, and I served as the IPSF Liaison for my college. I attended the IPSF World Congress in 2013 in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Upon graduating from pharmacy school, I worked as a Walgreens Pharmacy Manager at a high volume pharmacy. I became active in FIP and my local pharmacy organization Arizona Pharmacy Association. I have attended the last four FIP World Congresses, allowing me to expand my pharmaceutical knowledge, travel globally, and make lasting friendships. My main focus this year is to build upon the quality inclusion of young pharmacists and the expansion of their roles within FIP.

During my free time, I enjoy hiking, rock climbing, traveling, and reading. It is rare to find me without a newspaper or book in hand!

I hope to see you all at the upcoming 2019 World Congress in Abu Dhabi!
